Priscilla Flower Mission

Priscilla Flower Mission

In 1902 a group of 8 young middle school age girls wanted to become active in some form of service to their community, the Fremont community. They decided their mission would be to take flowers to patients in the hospital each Saturday. A few short years later one of their founding members, Priscilla, died and the group honored her passing by naming the group Priscilla Flower Mission.

Over the years this group of 12 to 16 ladies has not only delivered flowers each Saturday but has also raised funds for various hospital projects. The Priscilla Flower Mission has donated over $30,000 in gifts to the Fremont Hospital. Their donations have included a Mobile Cardiac unit, renovation to the Merrick Manor West Entrance, contributions for a patient transport van, hospital sunroom furniture, exterior benches and planters, and money for the general hospital endowment fund. Most recently the Priscilla Flower Mission has been responsible for donating the Dunklau Garden courtyard fountain. But it is the gift of flowers and a kind word to each patient on a Saturday that fulfills their mission.

Today the group consists of 12 members who are still actively delivering flowers each Saturday to hospital patients in the Fremont Health facility. If you would like to support their efforts, please contact them through the website – priscillaflowermission.com
